Offering several publications related to the history of the Tamworth area, the Tamworth Historical Society has made its home in the Calala Cottage Complex. Publications are available via mail order.

Over 160 members form this family history group that traces family lines back to the settlement of the Tamworth area. The group manages some historical documents like newspapers and government records.

A short history of the Golden Guitar Awards, started in Tamworth in 1973, as Australia's leading country music award show. Since then, the festival has exploded, growing larger every year.
