Known as Australia's 'Country music capital', Tamworth holds an annual Country Music Festival in January. The population of the town swells to half a million at this time, and the streets come to life at night.

This large national park is over 3000 hectares in size and contains a spectacular gorge where the Namoi river crashes through. Caravans are not recommended to travel the road to the park.

Twelve metres in height and over 500 kilrograms, the Big Guitar is an iconic monument of Tamworth. Millions of photographs have been taken in front of this guitar, which is the site for the award ceremony for Australia's Country Music scene.
